This gallant little ship was involved in the illfated convoy to Russia PQ17.
Once the convoy had "scattered", due to "Admiralty" fears over the "Tirpitz",
she managed to collect 3 Merchant ships and led them North into the ice fields.
There they stayed for several days, and they painted the sides of their ships, facing "south" towards the enemy, white as a camouflage.
She then led these ships, using only an atlas for navigation to the Russian Island of "Novaya Zemyla",
and then from there she delivered them to the Northern Russian ports.
